Weekly Update - A Publication of the Michigan Militia Corps Volume 3 Issue 17 July 11 - July 18, 1996 THE WILBURN INVESTIGATION OF OKC BOMBING Even more dangerous to Clinton's reputation than whitewater is the little-known investigation undertaken by two ordinary citizens, Glenn and Katy Wilburn of Oklahoma city. Its importance was inadvertently highlighted by FBI Director Louis Freeh in a recent speech to the World Economic Forum. Freeh noted that 10% of Americans believe the U.S government was in some way responsible for blowing up the Oklahoma City federal building. The Wilburns, having suffered personally from the bombing in which they lost two grandchildren, were not impressed with the official investigation. They were motivated to look closely at incoherent fragments of the official version of what happened. The couple turned up startling evidence that the federal government had prior knowledge of the bombing plan, but allowed it to proceed anyway. They came to the belief that the FBI has refused to pursue and arrest as many as seven suspects seen near the crime scene with McVeigh. The Wilburns say the FBI's refusal results from its fear of exposing the government's role in the terrorist attack. The Wilburns believe they know the identity of all the men involved including the undercover agent who worked with Timothy Mcveigh. The story has an unusual German connection. As reported in London's Sunday Telegraph on May 19, the Wilburns announced that they would name Andreas Strassmeir, 36, as a "U.S. federal informant with material knowledge of the bombing." They say that Strassmeir, a German citizen, became involved with the American white-separatist movement while he lived with members or the "Christian Identity" sect at Elohim city on the Arkansas-Oklahoma border from 1991 through 1995. Strassmeir told the Sunday Telegraph that he first took up residence in the US in 1969 "because he was planning to work on a special assignment for the U.S. Justice Department." The Wilburns believe that Strassmeir penetrated the circle that organized the bombing and warned authorities about the impending bomb blast. A federal government agent who pretended to be a participant in the bombing plot would not be blamed personally. The blame would rightly extend all the way to the top. Little wonder that Strassmeir hasn't spoken out. He must he scared stiff right now. Thinking people would remember that the Oklahoma bombing changed the whole political landscape. It put the republican revolution on the defensive and put Clinton on the road to a comeback. If, as the Wilburns believe, the bombing went forward with the knowledge of the government, it would be seen as a defining instance of institutional corruption that would cost Bill Clinton the White House. By James Davidson Strategic Investment June 19, 1996 INTERNEONAL CRIME CONFERENCE The third international conference on crime in the former Soviet Union took place in London in late may attracting police and security officials from around the world. The reason for the global interest is the worldwide scope of Russian organized crime. The Russian Mafias have greatly expanded their operations in North America and Europe. Italian officials noted that the Italian Mafia has been investing in privatized businesses in Russia with Russian Mafia help and fear that links between organized crime in the two countries are becoming stronger. The conference concluded that Russian organized crime should be viewed as an international threat. Strategic Investment June 19, 1996 THE BRADY ACT REPEAL BILL H.R. 2470 Introduced October 11, 1995 by Congressman Steve Stockman and four of his colleagues, entitled the "Second Amendment Reaffirmation Act of 1995," the bill would: *Repeal the Brady Law. *Repeal the District of Columbia's semiautomatic strict liability law, whereby Washington, D.C. attempted to hold gun manufacturers and dealers liable for injuries inflicted with their products. *Provide that, when a federal firearms licensee goes out of business, his 4473 forms be given to another dealer, as opposed to current requirements that the records be forwarded to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms: *Award attorney's fees to those who successfully sue after being denied a license under the National Firearms Act. *Allow citizens to sue ATF agents for violations of civil or constitutional rights. *Prohibit use of environmental laws to ban firearms. *Require the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury to approve high dollar BATF investigations. *Prohibit and punish BATF agents for computerizing out-of-business records. Each of the bioregions would be under the immediate authority of the UN's Trusteeship Council. The May/June issue of _Ecologic_, the journal of the free-market Environmental Conservation Organization, reports that such a bioregion may be under construction in the Northwest: "Cascadia," an area encompassing Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Colombia. The Cascadia concept is a project of Seattle's Discovery Institute. Alan Bluechel, president of the North West Economic Region (NWER), describes Cascadia as "our regional version of the European Economic Region." The NWER, which is making ambitious plans for joint economic development and planning, is underwritten by the seven states and provinces, as well as by a federal grant. Significantly, many of the major corporate and political players are deeply involved in Wildlands-related initiatives, and Cascadia would fit nicely into a map prepared by the Sierra Club which divides North America into 21 bioregions. The New American July 22, 1996 ORWELLIAN EDUCATION Last October, the House passed overwhelmingly the Careers Act (H.R. 1617) while the senate companion bill, the Workforce Development Act (S. 143), sailed through with remarkable bipartisan support. Final passage of the landmark legislation was expected to come before Thanksgiving. A disturbing phenomenon arose to upset the celebration. As one leading House Republican noted, "A grassroots rebellion is taking place around the nation" in response to the proposed new laws. Representative Henry Hyde has taken lead in the fight against this school-to-work legislation, "I'll tell you why it is so important to repeal these laws," said Hyde: "The plan for Goals 2000 was developed by Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Ira Magaziner, and Marc Tucker, president of the National Center on Education and the Economy (funded by the Carnegie Foundation), prior to Clinton's election. It is a concept for dumbing-down our schools and changing the character of the nation through behavior modification (a vital part of this plan). It moves away from an academically intensive curriculum to one that is integrated with vocational training, producing skilled manpower for the labor market. The economy will be controlled by the federal government by controlling our workforce and our schools." Moreover, Hyde noted that this dictation of career paths by Big Brother would apply not only to tiny tots, but to adults as well. Under a national school-to-work system, siblings who have already graduated will be forced to return for vocational training and behavioral modification. Adults who want to change jobs or who involuntarily lose their jobs will also be required to enter retraining through adult education and vocational classes in order to qualify for work certificates for future employment. But the workforce fascists have even grander usurpations in mind -- like assuming the power to decide what the state's "resources" shall live. Hyde noted. "statewide Workforce Development Boards have formed to study which labor skills are needed in each state to determine 'human resources' training requirements. Of course, this will decide also where these human resources will reside. They will have to live where the 'state' chooses, according to what skills the 'state' has chosen for them to learn." Further invasive intrusions into our lives are aimed at ultimately stripping away all privacy. Hyde warned, "national electronic information will be gathered on all students and adults who receive educational and vocational benefits. The information will be disseminated to one-stop career centers and follow them through their working careers (life-long learning)."
